Cyberwear Emporium
Cyberwear is the implanted devices in a person's body usually as enhancements or replacements for the body. This Document is a usage of and list of cyberwear equipment. The items are divided into sections depending on their use, examples are I/O, storage, weapon, etc.

Terminology

In this document, each section of cybergear starts with a quicklist of the equipment in that section, the quicklist is formated as follows:
Name Essense Router Cost Availibility Street Index
Cyber Item A.4415,526,7733/61.5
Cyber Item B301001/1.5

Name - Well if that one isn't obvious, that is what the item is called.
Essense - This is the cost, in essense points, of getting that piece of gear installed. Essense does NOT immediately return if you later have the gear removed.
Router - If a 1 is in this slot it requires a router port to opperate correctly, if one isn't availible, the device will act flaky, or have limited functionality (see individual items' descriptions). If a - or a 0 is here then the device doesn't need a router port.
Cost - MSRP (Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price). Another fragginly obvious one, the cost, in nuyen of course, that it costs to purchase the piece of gear. During character generation this is the cost paid, during the game however, that cost has multipliers added and you also have to pay someone to install the thing for you, it doesn't just suddenly appear in the character's body.
Availibility - This is how common or rare an item is on the streets (black/grey markets).
Street Index - This is the standard multiplier applied to the cost of the item for purchasing off the streets, this isn't set in stone and a GM may decide to adjust it to fit his/her campaign.

Standard Datajack
The almost universal mark of the cyber-consious user, standard datajacks allow input and output to certain pieces of cyberwear and gear. Datajacks allow the user to cybernetically interface with properly equipped gear such as cyberdecks, remote-control decks, and vehicles with datajack ports, so that the user can manipulate them, issue commands and so forth.
Deckers usually implant datajacks in their temples to access higher-brain functions, while riggers usually have them behind and below the ears, where they can access the submandibular glands and lower brain. It is not unusual for people to have more than one datajack. (note the location of the datajack stopped mattering, at least for ease of connectivity, when routers were introduced)
If the user desires, they can have a datajack installed with a mini 5 port router embedded for only 600 more, and no extra essense cost. The datajack the router is embedded in does not count as a used port on the router.

Wireless Datajack
The wireless datajack allows the user to interface with a device up to 5 meters away. The device must have a wireless datajack reciever plugged in to recieve the commands. One wireless reciever comes with a commercially purchased wireless datajack. Because these devices communicate over radio frequencies, jammers may hamper useage.
If the user desires, they can have a datajack installed with a mini 5 port router embedded for only 600 more, and no extra essense cost. The datajack the router is embedded in does not count as a used port on the router.

Standard Chipjack
This specialized type of datajack allows the user to mentally access datasofts and knowsofts. If the user also has skillwires, he or she can also access activesofts. Only one chip can be used in a chipjack at a time, though a user can have more than one chipjack.

Softlink
Designed to replace the outdated chipjack, a softlink contains all the nessisary hardware for the human brain to interpret and utilize skillsofts and datachips, though using active skillsofts still require the installation of skillwire systems. The soft link has a number of ports equal to its level.

Radio
A headware radio can transmit or recieve on any frequency, though it can hold only Rating * 2 programmed frequencies in its memory at any one time. The signal quality is rarely as good as a telephone, but the ability to switch bands makes the system more popular with the military or any user expecting active jamming. When transmitting, the user must speak, though he may do so in tones inaudible to those nearby.

Subvocal Microphone
This device allows a user with an implanted radio or phone to communicate without having to talk out loud. Instead the user subvocalizes. A user with a datajack can connect to an external radio or phone and subvocalize through it as well. Another use would couple the Subvocal mic with headware memory and a Data Conversion SPU to record a voice journal or describing something the character may not remember.

Telephone
A headphone allows the user to access the cellular network in his head. This phone is subject to ECM and jamming; for those purposes, it has a Device Rating of 2. Tridphone reception is voice-only unless the user also has a image link. Like most telecoms, headware telephones can recieve faxes, though only 5 Mp of space is built into the phone.

Smartlink
A smartlink is the feedback loop circuitry necessary to take full advantage of a smartgun. Targeting information appears on the user's retina or cybereye usually as a small dot or crosshairs that corresponds to the smartgun's current line of fire. Though the targeting image can be modified to about anything the user wants. Typical systems use a subdermal indcution pad in the user's palm to link with the smartgun. Though connection through a datajack is also possible.

Router
The router allows multipule devices to communicate with each other without a large amount of interference. Without a router, a device can communicate with one other device effectively (including the brain). That isn't acceptable, each router can handle 10 devices and if installed correctly communicate with each outer without consuming each other's ports. Vehicle Control Rig
This device consists of neuro-enhancers and muscular signal transferance (MST) interfaces. Each level adds +2 to the user's Reaction and +1D6 initiative dice while rigging. Vehicles must be equiped with vehicle control gear in order for a rigging character to use them. VCRs also allows users to default to Reaction for any Vehicle Skill at a +2 modifier, as opposed to the usual +4.
Please note that a datajack is required to link the VCR to the VCG in a vehicle.

Skillwire Plus
The venerable skillwire system has recently been upgraded and enhanced to bring it on par with current technology. Required for the use of Active skillsofts, the skillwire system translates the mnemanic coding on the skillsoft to real-time neurological impulses and thus to physical activity. The total rating of all the Active skillsofts in use at any time may not exceed twice the level of the system. Active Skillsofts, regardless of whether inserted into a chipjack, softlink, or uploaded into headware memory, can only be used at the rating for which they are coded. Use at a reduced rating is not pssible.

Ears (Cyber replacement)
Ears can be surgecally modified with implants or replaced with cybernetic ears. Both options involve both ears, so as to not unbalance the user's hearing. Modification is not outwardly noticable, but each feature has its own impact on the user's system.
Cyber replacement of the ears typically features an obvious prosthesis that provides perfect hearing within normal ranges. The cyberear will also accept additional adjustments costing up to .5 Essense without further Essense loss. The cyberear also has a dedicated router (ear mods only) that has 3 ports.

Commlink
The internal version of a scanner, the commlink is also an accessory for an internal radio or telephone. On its own, the commlink allows the user to scan ranges of frequencies. Combined with a radio or phone implant it can simultaineously monitor and access Rating * 2 radio or telephone frequencies. These frequencies are programmable and may be changed, or they can be locked out to reduce audio clutter. the dedicated user can even hold conferance calls in his head.
Tridphone reception is audio only unless the user also has an image link. If the user has a display link, a status report on the monitored frequencies can be displayed in his or her field of vision. Likewise, incoming calls are noted with a small flashing icon. The commlink can be implanted as a package deal with either an internal radio or a telephone; in either case, the Essence Cost of the commlink is halved.

Linguasoft Compression SPU
A LCSPU reduces the amount of memory required to store a given linguasoft by 75% (multiply standard memory requirments by .25). To achieve this, the SPU is already programmed with most of the language's grammatical and structural rules, so only needs to store vocabulary and contextual data to allow the user to speak fluently.
