GM: (1220 9-26-2057)
Wolfclaw wanders away and soon finds himself on the top level of
the parking garage beside the R&D building. A noise causes him to
turn toward the R&D building, where he sees three large vents
opening on its roof.
The shopkeeper looks at Baron, thoughtfully, and replies, "Nope, I
don't think that guy has been here. How about a squishy?"
Fenix attempts to fire into the guard's chest but is unable to turn
the gun to an angle that would hit the guard. The second guard
reaches Fenix a moment later, panting slightly as he pours a liguid
onto Fenix's nonweapon arm. A light sizzling and popping starts
as the liquid touches Fenix's armor. The first guard continues
to hold Fenix's nonweapon hand still while attempting to force
Fenix into dropping his gun.
R'thoria's deck compensates for the Grid's attempted overrides and
she notices the room hasn't changed at all.
Fenix:
Panicing, I frantically thrash about in an attempt to get the guard
off of me.
Baron:
I ask, "Is it really sugary and does it have lots of caffene?"
Kwain:
I finally arrive on scene on my bike. I leave the rifle on the bike
(secured) and begin working my way into the lab.
R'thoria:
I examine the furniture for something interesting.
GM: (1221 9-26-2057)
R'thoria examines the furniture discovering that they are completely
immobile and appearently part of the floor. A noise startles R'thoria
from outside.
Fenix knocks the guard off himself in time to feel a cold prick and the
sharp pain of tearing flesh where the armor was eaten. Drops of a red
liquid scatter around the area as Fenix flails his arm about.
The shopkeeper agrees with Baron and asks what flavor he would like,
Cherry, Pibb, or mystery. Mystery being his personal favorite.
Kwain, like everyone else, is turned away from the R&D building by the
Lonestar Cops.
R'thoria:
I load sleaze, quick attack, attack, and deception into active memory.
After they are loaded I coutiously drift outside.
Kwain:
I run to a shadowed area of the building after concocting a plan. I find
a building across the street and fire a piton straight at the wall of the
R&D building. I then zipline across and climb up to the top of the
building, where I fire a piton back across into the garage in case I need
to get out of there. The rope should be high enough not to be detected.
My bike is on the other side of the rope in the garage. I then finish
scaling the building and check for guards. If I am discovered, I will
open fire with my pistols. If not, I will attempt to find an access port
into the building.
Baron:
I think for a second and relpy, "Yes, I think I will try the Mystery
flavor, and make it a large." I then wait for the sugary caffinated
beverage.
Fenix:
(Trying to get up) I shoot at the guard that was on top of me, aiming
where the bullets might penetrate his/her armor.
GM: (1222 9-26-2057)
R'thoria's programs load quickly, A pair of dark glasses, a small pistol,
a fichetti pistol, and a fake looking passport appear with her. (note to
player: noone but your character can see these utilities until you
activate them.) She drifts outside, and sees a well kept dirt street,
many of the small houses that she has exited line the sides of the
street, most of the doors are open, names are stenciled above each
doorway, Fred, Araloo, Gabriel. It looks as if roads intersect the one
she is on and go deeper into the city. Across the street, behind the
tree-homes there, is a large, stone wall, appearently the edge of this
grid. A few elves wander down the street appearently aimlessly. A young
looking elf is playing in the grass one home over, appearently the source
of the noise that startled R'thoria. R'thoria notices that all the elves
are wearing a dull red/brown and have generic blue eyes. After a second,
an elf wearing bright pink runs down the street, turning up deeper into
the city, not noticing R'thoria's non-elven attire.
Fenix, struggles to get up but manages to fire a few rounds at the other
guard, one of the bullets catching an area by his left wrist, causing a
pale blue fluid to splatter across the hall. Fenix feels the hall
starting to shrink on him and the guards seem to be moving faster. A
slight mist seems to blur the edges of his vision. He dreamily notices
that the elevator light indicates the elevator is coming down to the
sub-basement.
Kwain easily crosses over to the roof of the R&D building, and not
finding anyone up here except for a noseprint on the main access door,
wanders around noticing that the three large ventelation doors are open
and large amounts of air is beeing sucked into two of them and the third
is blowing a similar amount out.
The shopkeeper smiles and turns toward the squishy machine and presses a
series of buttons. The squishy machine grinds to life, making a large
series of grinding noises before filling the large plastic cup with a
blackish, purple slush. He fills it to slightly overflowing, and places
the lid on the cup. He sets the cup on the counter in from of Baron and
hands him a straw/spoon saying, "Five nuyen please."
Fenix:
I continue to fire at the guard I hit previusly, aiming for a critical
spot.
Baron:
I pay the cashier and gladly take my drink. I insert the straw and
taste it.
Zerra:
I take a seat to watch R'thoria's vital signs for trouble.
Kwain:
I throw a piece of paper lieing around into the blowing vent to check for
safety. After that, I Fire my piton into the vent and walk towards it.
When I srrive there I undo the grating and secure a hook in the top of the
vent. I then fire another piton down to create a tight rope spanning the
vent vertically. I then hook myself to the rope and begin me decent, my
headset scanning for action areas.
R'thoria:
I follow the Elf in pink. I also load Persona Tag & Hitchhiker into
active memory.
Wolfclaw:
I try to jump from the parking garage roof to the R&D building.
GM: (1223 9-26-2057)
Baron takes a large gulp, a bittersweet taste tumbles down his throat, a
second after he swallows he is startled awake by the horrible bitter
aftertaste, he feels as if he's going to puke.
Fenix releases another round or two at the guard before collapsing from
the drug, appearently with no effect.
R'thoria loads her programs, generating a pack of post-it notes and a
sub-ether signaling thumb. She rushes after the sprinting elf. She
turns deeper into the city after the elf and sees many tradeshops, and a
large stone library, the elf continues on through the inner wall into the
courtyard of a large castle. R'thoria feels a slight increase in
ambiant resistance of the system.
Kwain throws the paper into the blower vent just to have it fly back into
his face from the air velocity. He fires the piton into the vent and
watches the piton ricochette off the vent cover and down the vent. After
a second the piton line goes really loose and the piton appears coming
out of the vent, held up by the high air pressure.
Wolfclaw, incredibly surprised to see that the R&D building is taller
than the Garage decides better than to attempt the jump.
Adrian hears the elevator grind to a halt. A few seconds later she hears
the door to the room they are in clicking as it is unlocked. Adrian,
reading her gun, watches from her hiding place as a 15 year old girl
walks in and looks startled as she sees R'thoria, Zerra, and the
Amazon trio at the consoles.
R'thoria:
I throw a post-it note at the pink elf, and after verifing that it stuck,
I head into the library.
Adrian:
Taking advantage of the girl's startlement, I step forward, pull her away
from the door, closing it in the process. I throw her down into a chair
and keeping my pistol aimed at her, demanding she tell me who she is.
Zerra:
I look startled at the new face and hurry over to Adrian to offer my
help.
Kagekaze:
Finally awakening after screaming myself unconscience, I decide to add
rocks and other small throwable objects to my barrage of insults.
Kwain:
Realizing that this attempt will likely be futile, I decide that I will
attempt a window enterance. I reel in the piton and fire it at the side
of the wall next to my zip line to the garage. I then repel down the face
of the building, and find a window on the fourth floor. I then turn on my
laser cutter and cut the bars off the window as quietly as I can. after
that, i secure the cut off pieces to the side of the window and get back
from the window. I check the window, then pull my SMG's out. I jump off
the wall and come back at the window, firing at it to break it with my
SMG's (silencers on). Upon enterance, I will destroy any threat I see. If
there are civilians or other non-threatening persons in the room, I will
attempt to question them. If I am unnoticed, I will hide and survey the
surrounding area. If I am outnumbered or in danger I will jump back out
the window and power-zip up the line, then connect to the other line, jump
on the bike, and attempt a safe get away, but not a full retreat.
Baron:
I leave the store drinking/eating my squishy and immediatly proceed
towards the mansion.
GM:(1224 9-26-2057)
R'thoria watches the post-it note fly toward the elf, sticking and
disappearing into the persona. As R'thoria enters the Library, she
notices an elven soldier standing perfectly immobile by the door, a
surprizingly large number of elves browsing the shelves covered with
books. An elderly looking elf wanders among the shelves offering help
to the different patrons.
The young girl crashes into the chair from Adrian's push, unable to shift
around in her resraints and immediately starts crying, silently. She looks
at Adrian with a look of pure dread and fear.
Kwain repels down the side of the building, and not finding any windows
on the fourth floor, moves down to the third. He carefully cuts the bars
from the window. He starts securing the bars when two of the seven bars
slip from his grasp and fall toward the ground. Kwain goes crashing
through the window, his SMGs not firing, into a empty office. A quick
servey of the room tells Kwain that there is a large brown desk with
noting on its surface, a well padded chair behind the desk and a small
hard metal chair in front of the desk. The desk appears to have two
drawers. There is an ornate floor lamp in the farthest corner from the
door. The door has a frosted window with the words "Resource Manager"
stenciled on the glass, easily read from outside the office, but a slight
chore from inside. The carpet is a thick, dark green, shag, free of
dust.
Kagekaze continues his barrage of insults, adding small flying objects to
the wave. The Lonestar Cops appear to ignore Kagekaze when he suddenly
finds himself between two of them. They escort him to a Lonestar vehicle
and put him in the back seat, any struggles he attempts fail and hes hit
several times with security batons. The Lonestar cops tell the driving
cop to take him away and lock him up for a week. The two cops go back to
their investigation and the vehicle starts driving away. After the
vehicle turns a corner, the driver looks back at Kagekaze, and he
recognizes Roe at the wheel. "That isn't nessesarily the best way to
achieve mission goals. Sorry, but sense we bailed you, your run is over
for today.
Baron continues eating his squishy and as he walks he feels worse and
worse. He feels strange and a bit lightheaded.
Baron:
I turn around and attempt to return to the Quick-E-Mart with the full
intent of getting my money back. One way or another.
Kwain:
I quickly check my weapons. After realizing that I secured the wrong
devices, I remove my silencers and attech the suppressors to the SMGs,
the silencers on the pistols. After clearing any jams/problems, I survey
the office for anything of use to me (records, maps, personel files, r&d
reports, other cool stuff). I will attempt to find an area I might find
useful to my skills (such as a disortion field) and attempt to procure a
mirror. After all this is done, I will leave the room, using the mirror
or some other reflective object to look around corners for danger. I
decide thar since I currently have no mission, I will attempt to find
valuable info/objects, and begin my search, moving carefully to avoid
detection.
R'thoria:
I approach the elderly looking elf and ask if he can help me find
the blueprints section.
Wolfclaw:
I decide to provide backup for those on the streets below me, while doing
so I am hopefully awaiting for someone to draw the cops away from the main
enterance of the R&D building, after that happens I will make my move to
go inside.
Adrian:
I growl at the girl to stop crying. Continuing to keep aim with my
pistol.
Zerra:
Moving quickly over to Adrian, I attempt to bring to her attention the
restraints the young girl is wearing, and offer the idea that she may be a
'slave' to this corporation. I attempt speak quietly enough so the
girl cannot hear what I'm saying.
GM: (1225 9-26-2057)
R'thoria approaches one of the elderly elves, asking her question. The
elf nods slowly for a second and then shuffles down one of the isles
toward the rear of the library. He leads R'thoria through a small
archway into a small room with all four walls lined with books. The
elderly elf then wanders back into the library proper.
The young girl continues to cry, her tears increasing as Adrian waves the
gun in her face. The Amazon Trio completely ignores the girl.
Before Kwain can examine the room, he hears a large number of voices,
sounding like a tour group, approaching from down the hall. The room
doesn't appear to offer any hiding places.
Wolfclaw watches the scene below, the cops continue doing whatever they
are doing (looks like a pillaging from this vantage).
Fenix wakes up, tied up to a small metal chair. His body armor is
sitting beside him on a table, as well as the contents of his pack. he
awakens groggly and notices a large metal security gate to his right, a
light hum from behind him and a whole lot of floodlights, which sting his
eyes, even when they are closed.
Baron turns on his heel and starts returning to the Quick-E-Mart. As he
turns the world spins for a second. Baron's lightheadedness causes him
to stagger around a bit.
Fenix:
Without opening my eyes and putting as much into it as possible, I flail
about. Trying to act like I'm having some seisure. During my act I test
the strength of the restraints.
Baron:
I stagger for a second and it hits me. I attempt to use my cure toxin
spell to remove the toxin from my system. I will then approach the clerk
demanding an exchange for the large Mr. Pibb I wanted in the first
place.
Kwain:
This day just keeps getting better! I decide to attempt to view the party
and determine if I can fit in. I take my sword and punch a hole in the
wall to view the party through. If it looks like I can fit in with the
party, I will attempt to join the rear of the group. Should they come
in my room, I will hide on the ceiling with the help of my piton gun,
since it should be quiet enough. If they just walk by, I will begin to
follow them from a distance, since that way there should be a few guards.
I also realize the blade of my katana is reflective enough to use as a
mirror, and decide to keep it out for a while, just in case. I determine
that I should attempt to locate any new technology I can find, as well as
see if I can get to either the Blitzers or Fenix to offer my
assistance.
Wolfclaw:
After seeing the cops are pillaging from the ventage, I arm myself for
combat and start heading to the enterance of the building.
Adrian:
I contemplate Zerra's idea for a moment. I decide that Zerra might be
right and tell her, "Fine, you deal with her." I move over to where
R'thoria is plugged in, shuddering at the mere thought of a datajack, and
check her condition. As I return to watching the door, I 'accidentally'
cycle the power to the trio's terminal.
Zerra:
I nod to Adrian's order, and help the girl into a more comfortable
position. I examine the restraints for a possible alarm, and
attempt to remove them if I don't find one. While I'm doing this, I ask
the girl her name and why she's here. I attempt to be as soothing and
compasionate as I can.
R'thoria:
I activate my browse program and search for the specified blueprints.
I also check up on my persona tag.
GM: (1226 9-26-2057)
The young girl's sobbing lightens but the girl doesn't answer any
questions. Zerra doesn't find any alarm mechanisms and removes the
plastic restraints, much to the girls surprize.
Fenix thrashes about with no appearent effect except to tighten the bonds
around his wrists. No one reacts to his thashing.
R'thoria's browse program turns up about a hundred blueprints, none of
which match the specs more than 3%. The persona tag reports in from the
pink elf: SPU Red, ID-Routing Higher Security Access (inner
courtland) // no passcodes recorded.
Baron concentrates on the complex mathematical formulas for the cure toxin
spell he's preparing to cast. Stopping on the sidewalk to devote more
energy he begins a purge of his body.
Wolfclaw rushes down the parking garage with sword drawn toward the R&D
building enterance. Again two Lonestar cops stop him telling him to
please leave the "crime scene".
Kwain punches a hole in the wall of the office. The startled tour guide
looks at the freshly punched hole and starts screaming, "intruder!" Kwain
hears security armor jingling as it approaches from all directions. An
alarm starts a moment later, red lights flashing down the halls.
R'thoria:
I decide to copy the ten most relevent blueprints onto my deck and head
out of the library.
Fenix:
I continue to thrash about. I try to make my spit look like foam as I
send it forth th make it look like I'm foaming. A also slightly open my
eyes in an attempt to see anyone or anything.
Baron:
I continue the Cure Toxin spell.
Kwain:
Not good I say to myself. Realizing this error, I realize the head-on
confrontation is maniacal at best. I quickly reattech my powerzip to the
line and zip the the top of the roof. I then attach my powerzip to the
other line, and slide back to my bike. After getting there, I will
quickly survey the area and draw the rifle from my backpack, where I will
cover the window, but not nessisarily shoot. If I see any threats, I
will eliminate them. If I have to shoot, I will attempt a getaway on my
bike, but just to back off a few blocks.
Zerra:
I continue to sooth the girl.
GM: (1227 9-26-2057)
R'thoria copies the three closest matches to her deck, taking up a total
of 32 mp of space. R'thoria leaves the library. A few seconds later
yellow lights start flashing along the ceilings of the rooms.
The young girl calms down enough to tell Zerra her name is Asuka Arndur,
and that she 'works' here as a simsense specialist. The Amaazon trio
jumps back as a yellow flashing light appears on the console they are
using.
Fenix continues to thrash about, with no appearant effect. Peeking
around, he sees a grey brick wall.
Baron starts to feel a little better.
Kwain climbs back to the roof and zips over to his bike. Reaching there
he remembers he needs to take it to the paint shop to remove the neon
green paint. Turning to back to the window, a single security guard is
looking out it toward the ground.
Zerra:
I tell the girl my name and as her why she had the restraints on.
Adrian:
Being iritated at the Amazon Trio and at the yellow light, I walk over to
the console, pulling out my silenced Fichetti and fire a round into the
console. If it doesn't stop blinking I put another bullet through
the thing.
Wolfclaw:
I ask them "what crime scene?" Then I demand they let me through unless
they want another crime scene.
Fenix:
I stop thrashing and lie there slumped in the chair. I open my eyes and
look around. I pretend to twitch my head like a seisure. I look for
anyone or anything of importance.
Kwain:
I knew I was forgetting something! I quickly place the bike on its side
to hide it from view. I quickly attach a silencer to the riflle and take
aim at the window again. I will watch the guard to see if he appears to
notice me. If he does, I will attempt to shoot him while still looking
down, as to make the guards think I am down there. If they do not notice
me, I will cover the window until I am safe and things start to quiet
down. I also make a mental note to get that tour guide!
R'thoria:
After checking my browse program again, I head to the pink elf's
location. I am slighly unnerved by the flashinf yellow lights, and
proceed with caution.
